You probably should at least try to pretend like you care for the Yotes.

Funny how you could list both Toronto and Boston for the 'traded away Tyler Seguin and Dougie Hamilton' item.

I couldn't imagine what would happen if the Oilers won the lottery again. There was a funny read about what would happen

My wife thought by now I would have outgrown this hockey addiction but I fooled her. I'm worse than ever. This lottery is the most exciting thing to happen in a long time. Last year I didn't think we had a chance and seeing what Marner's doing makes me forget about McDavid...almost. Cheers James

A star from AZ playing in AZ would be a big deal there. Much bigger than a Toronto born player playing for the Leafs. I don't know if it is enough to get a lot more money from Scottsdale to make the drive out to Glendale, but there would be a lot more local coverage.

Yup...Berard was great and was definitely on his way to being something special, but I always thought Kenny Jonsson was the far better actual defenseman. I was super annoyed at Cliff when he sent him off to the Isles to re-acquire Wendel.

For a bit, then who cares? It's not the massive thing people are making it out to be.

I think the fact that Berard came back after missing a whole year or two, with basically one eye, and scored 50 points for the Rangers indicates he was about 10000 times better than Kenny Jonsson.

Actually, 23 points is a far cry (no pun intended) from 50...but point taken.

Probably because Ek is in line with the Gary Bettman expanding markets agenda.

47 points in 58 games - basically Erik Karlsson numbers - with the Blackhawks in '04. Sorry, I got mixed up when I said the Rangers. But my point stands.

Why he does a 3 season comparison for a single-season award is suspect. Perhaps the comparisons for this season only weren't as favorable?

For sure. I wasn't even getting down on Berard at all. I loved the guy...he was a pure joy to watch. Just for "all around" gamesmanship, I liked what Kenny brought to the proverbial table.

James, why do you suppose the lottery is held behind closed doors and not in the open so fans cam see the lottery.

There would be no talk about the lottery being fixed if it was open to see. I just can't understand, why the secrecy?
